We now broadcast online video at the Open Mic Night events, live every tuesday, at Coffee Works Cafe. So you can go to their website www.coffee-works.com and click on the Live Video link and check it out. We are also broadcasting select performances from other music nights too, Like right now! Patty Blee, a terrific vocalist and guitarist is playing and it’s pretty cool to be able to peek in and watch the show.
Our friend Marc Fleischner took a bunch of pictures at the Coffee Works Open Mic event recently. We’re going to print some up to go on the wall at the cafe. Marc does excellent work with performers and performance shoots and is available for hire at very reasonable prices. Check out www.mjfphoto.com for more info. Coffee Works Open Mic News
Next Tuesday July 7th will be the last time we see Alan Sloan at the Coffee Works open mic event for a while. We all know who Alan is and think very highly of him and his musical talents. Alan has collaborated with many of the regulars on many different numbers and instruments. From soprano sax to keyboards he has always managed to WOW the audience. I personally think Alan is a great human being and wish him all the best with his new endeavors in Michigan. Thanks for the memories. We’ll all miss you.

There are always some surprises at the Coffee Works Open Mic night each and every week. This week besides the huge crowd there to perform and others there to listen we had Miss Sherry Wine from Z88.9FM in the audience. Sherry has a show on Wednesday nights called the Blues Cafe and she plays great blues music that you just don’t hear anywhere else. Sherry is an avid music lover and live concert fan and we see her at lots of events. It was real nice having her come by Coffee Works and hang out with us. Listen to her show on 88.9 FM, wednesday nights at 10pm, The Blues Cafe with Sherry Wine.
In case you didn’t know I have been doing a live video feed on tuesday nights of the Coffee Works Open Mic event. It’s a litle primitive but it works pretty well. You can view right on the coffee Works website. There is also a link to the Show Page on the service we use to serve up the stream. Check it out some tuesday night.

One of the Best Open Mic events I have ever seen. Coffee Works Cafe is probably the best spot around for live music. Tuesday night is no exception except instead of the featured performers they have every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, it’spacked with local performers waiting inline to get their ten minutes on stage at the Weekly Open Mic Night. The talent is amazing. I am honored to host this great night of performance and invite you to come out and play or just come out and listen, have some coffee and snacks. A very entertaining night and they do have the best coffee around!! Tuesday Nights at Coffee Works Cafe! 7:30 to 10:00 every week with me as your host.
